A 1984 D-C grad, Miller-Nickerson was a three-sport athlete for all four of her high school years, participating in basketball, tennis and softball. She was a four-year letter winner and helped the Chargers reach the 1984 Elite Eight in basketball. She was also an all-conference softball player and in tennis had a career record of 54-14 playing No. 1 singles and doubles. A member of the National Honor Society, she went on to play basketball at the University of Northern Iowa.
