Played on the 1940 Dundee High School Team that advanced to the Elite 8. Went on to a storied collegiate career as a member of the University of Illinois "Whiz Kids" Big Ten Champions in 1942 and 1943. Member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
