A 1951 Dundee High School Graduate. Three-sport athlete slowed his junior year by polio. Rebounded In 1950-51 to set school and conference single-season scoring records and earn All-State recognition in basketball. Served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-54. While serving, he played on the USMC basketball teams and baseball teams.

He was a resident of the Dundee and Elgin area all of his life. He was employed by Ludwig Dairy for 30 years and then Bedard & Morency as a cabinet maker, and then part time at First United Methodist Church as a janitor for 10 years and Laird Funeral Home, Elgin as a driver and funeral assistant for 10 years.

He was inducted in the Dundee-Crown Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Illinois Basketball Coach's Association Hall of Fame in 2013. His interests were spending time with family & friends, wood working, spending time is his garden, traveling with the travel club with the bank and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
