Steve was an outstanding three sport athlete at Dundee Community High School. He was an All-Area Honorable Mention Football player his senior year and was part of the 1964-65 North Suburban Conference Championship Basketball Team. Steve excelled in baseball. He was a three year starter on the varsity team where he earned All-Conference selection twice while leading his team to the 1966 North Suburban Conference Championship.

He was drafted into the New York Yankees organization where he played from 1966 to 1970.

Steve is retired and lives in Panama City, Florida.
