1985, 1986: Swimming - Team Captain and Big Ten Meet qualifier at Purdue

Colby is a 1982 graduate of Dundee Community High School, where she was a four-year Varsity swimmer. She was named the team MVP all four years and advanced to the IHSA State Tournament all four years. During her four years she had 3 sectional titles. She was the first female swimmer to score points at a girl's state meet from any District 300 school. When Jennifer finished her Dundee H.S swimming career she held 8 school records and had a dual meet record of 109 wins and 6 losses. Jennifer also excelled in track at DCHS, where she was a 2 time state qualifier as a member of the 800- relay team. In 1982 she was named Athlete of the Year in both the Courier and the Free Press.

She received a full scholarship at Purdue University, where she was Captain of the Girls Swimming team and qualified for the Big Ten Meet.
